Whether Dad is a master on the golf course or a pro at putt-putt, an afternoon of golf can be a great time for the whole family. Also, the driving range is a great activity for kids that want to start learning the “real” game.
Travel for the weekend and go watch America’s favorite pastime. If attending a pro baseball game is not an option, look for a local minor leagues or community softball games to partake in.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, bowling indoors can be a great option! You can even opt for bumper bowling to give little kids a competitive advantage.
A classic and relaxing way to spend Dad’s special day, fishing will most definitely create some fond memories. Especially when children’s fishing poles can cost as little as $12! Don’t forget your fishing license though.
What's better than a simple game of catch with the kids? And Dad would love nothing more! Or play a favorite backyard game with a follow-up family barbecue. Don’t forget to mow the lawn!
Visiting a history museum, war memorial or other historic site can be awesome too! You can even pack Dad’s favorite sandwiches and snacks and have a picnic nearby.
Spending the day riding a bike is fun and healthy! If you don’t have bikes, take a quick walk to the nearest park and enjoy some fresh air.
If Dad likes to spend free time in the garage or wood shop, find a kid-friendly birdhouse or other project to build together. If the little ones are too young to use tools, have them paint or decorate after Dad is done building the wooden object.
Find a local hiking or walking trail and get out of the house. If you are unsure of certain trails or worried about safety for younger kids, you can look for trail reviews online. You can also download a trail app. One suggestion is AllTrails: Hike, Run & Cycle by AllTrails, Inc. Click here to access via the Apple App Store.
